macMacDevs[47] = Edinburgh_Mezz

January 13th, 2010

2010 already! And what better way to start the New Year than with an informal Edinburgh macMacDev? Park your flying cars (we all have them now, don’t we?) and talk about Mac and iPhone stuff.

macMacDevs[47] will be held at Mezz, 49-51 London Street, Edinburgh, EH3 6LX, on Thursday 14 January 2010, from 19:00 until whenever.

Turn up, talk code, try not to mention the t-word (or s-word) too often.

If you’re planning on coming along please let me know – david@pyrusmalus.com or @pyrusmalus

December 10th, 2009

It’s nearly Christmas, so what better way to celebrate than by combining all the December macMacDev meetings into one big, totally informal, meeting somewhere that isn’t Glasgow, Aberdeen, or Edinburgh?

macMacDevs[46] will be held at Papa Joes, 21 Dumbarton Road, Stirling, FK8 2LQ on Thursday 17 December 2009, from 19:00 to whenever.

Hopefully it’ll be a good opportunity to meet up with people from the other groups, particularly those from Aberdeen, and maybe an opportunity to find new developers in Stirling!

Let me know if you’re thinking of coming so I have an idea of numbers, and also if you want to car-share or train-share (the venue is within walking distance of Stirling Railway Station).

Let me know via Twitter (@pyrusmalus) or email david@pyrusmalus.com (Yes, the macMacDev mail server is still down!)

Yes, it is nearly Christmas! And we thought it might be a fun idea to combine this month’s macMacDev meetings into one big, totally informal, meeting located somewhere that is not Glasgow, Aberdeen, or Edinburgh.

So, the current plan is to meet up in Stirling on Thursday 17 December 2009, from 18:30 to whenever. Exact venue details still to be finalized!

Let me know what you think, and if you’re able to come along so I have an idea of numbers, and also if you want to car-share. Let me know via Twitter (@pyrusmalus) or email david@pyrusmalus.com (The macMacDev mail server is still down).

October 27th, 2009

We’re experimenting with a new format for macMacDev meetings: a formal meeting, followed by an informal meeting. Feel free to turn up for either or both (or none, but we’d love it if you didn’t choose this option!)

Our first formal meeting will be macMacDevs[39], which will be held in the Boardroom on Level 10 at Livingstone Tower, Strathclyde University on Thursday 29 October 2009, from 16:00 to 18:00. (Follow signs for the General Office on Level 10 of Livingstone Tower, the boardroom is on the right hand side of the general office area).

We’ll have a brief overview of the aims of MacMacDev, a blitz talk from Fraser Speirs, and then help you get the most out of your Mac and iPhone development. Whether you’re a beginner looking for some guidance; or have an idea for a Mac or iPhone application and want feedback; or an experienced developer looking for some code review, bug fixes, or advice, we’ll try our best.

Following the formal meeting will be macMacDevs[40].
