Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Yes, the first post-WWDC08 MacMacDev will be macMacDevs[6], which will be held at Offshore, 3/5 Gibson Street, Glasgow, G12 8NU, on Thursday 26 June 2008, from 19:00 until whenever.

Turn up, talk code, show off new apps. Just don’t mention Flamenco dancing.

If you’re interested in turning up, please do so – just let david at macmacdev dot come know so we have a rough idea of numbers.

macMacDevs[5] = Edinburgh_Baroque

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Our second East-coast (Scotland) meeting coincides nicely with a certain other West-coast (US) event. Yes, for those not making the transatlantic trek to WWDC08 there’s still macMacDevs[5], which will be held at Baroque, 39-41 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, EH1 3JU, on Thursday 12 June 2008 from 19:00 to whenever.

Nothing formal planned, just turn up and chat: no need to camp outside overnight to get in to this keynote. And there ought to be plenty to chat about with WWDC08 underway.

If you’re interested in turning up, please do so – just let david at macmavdev dot com know so we have a rough idea of numbers.

macMacDevs[4] = San_Francisco_Thirsty_Bear [Update]

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Three Glasgow meetings, one Edinburgh meeting, and now a meeting in San Francisco! Yes, macMacDevs[4] will be happening at The Thirsty Bear in San Francisco on Sunday 8 June 2008, with a new start time of 19:00, which will give us time to make an appearance at the sf/Mac indie party beforehand.

Look forward to seeing you at macMacDevs[4]! If you haven’t already emailed me to let me know you’re coming, please do so soon!

Monday, May 26th, 2008

For those of us making the transatlantic trek to WWDC08, macMacDevs[4] will be held at The Thirsty Bear, 661 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94105.

We’re still finalizing times to make sure we don’t clash with anything else, but the current plan is for it to be on Sunday 8 June 2008, starting from 18:00 until we feel we have to go and get some sleep in order to be up bright and early the next morning to wait in line for the Stevenote. Alternatively, we’ll just keep going until it is time to cross the street and wait in line for the Stevenote, but that might be a bit too crazy.

Since we’re going to need to give some indication of numbers in order to book it, please email david at macmacdev dot com to let me know if you can make it. If there’s anyone else you know who’ll be at WWDC08 and would like to join us, feel free to invite them too.

macMacDevs[3] = Glasgow_Offshore

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

macMacDevs[3] will be held at Offshore, 3/5 Gibson Street, Glasgow, G12 8NU, on Thursday 29 May 2008, from 19:00 until whenever.

As always, nothing formal planned: just turn up and chat, show off new code, and try to predict what’s going to be announced at WWDC08.

Let me know if you’re coming by emailing david at macmacdev dot com so I have a rough idea of numbers.

macMacDevs[2] = Edinburgh_Baroque

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Our first East-coast meeting will be held at Baroque, 39-41 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, EH1 3JU, on Tuesday 13 May 2008, from 19:00 to whenever.

Nothing formal planned, just turn up and chat. If you’re interested in turning up please do so – would be handy if you could email david at macmacdev dot com so we have a rough idea of numbers.

Obviously, West-coast MacMacDevs are free to attend too – email me if you’re thinking about going over to check out the East-coast coders and we can travel through by train together.

macMacDevs[1] = Glasgow_Offshore

Monday, April 21st, 2008

macMacDevs[1] will be held at Offshore, 3/5 Gibson Street, Glasgow, G12 8NU, on Thursday 24 April 2008, from 19:00 until we get tired or the place closes, whichever comes first.

There’s no agenda, no prepared topics, no fancy presentations: just a bunch of geeks with MacBooks. If you’re interested in turning up please do so – let me know you’re coming by emailing david at macmacdev dot com so I can get a rough idea of numbers.

As a close friend (one I’m going to go and see two days after macMacDevs[1]) would say, “See you real soon!”

macMacDevs[0] = Core_Group_Meeting

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

macMacDevs[0] was held on Tuesday 25 March 2008, seven years and one day after the launch of Mac OS X 10.0.

To commemorate this anniversary, seven Mac geeks formed the CoreGroup of MacMacDev; beta-tested a potential venue for future meetings (let’s just say that particular venue isn’t one we’ll be going back to!); and generally discussed Mac development stuff.

Our next meeting, macMacDevs[1], will be held at OffShore, 3/5 Gibson Street, Glasgow, G12 8NU, on Thursday 24 April 2008, from 19:00.

For more information, or to let us know you’re thinking of coming along, email david at macmacdev dot com.
